Designed and built by IHI Shipbuilding in Japan 1972 as a Japanese Navy Patrol boat. IHI Shipbuilding builds navy and commercial vessels up to 600’ in length. Purchased in 1990 by Tokyo Bay Shipping Co Ltd and redesigned with a major-refit and extension by IHI Shipbuilding before being used as the corporate entertainment yacht in Japan. Purchased in 2003 by private party in San Diego with US upgrades to interior, electrical, and navigation. Purchased by current owner in 2009 and brought to US safety standards. She is currently configured as an entertainment yacht with limited sleeping berths and a large salon. Her bottom and hull to her cap were repainted in 2014, and her bottom was repainted in 2018.Chain locker in forepeak, followed by guest stateroom, head & shower. Heading aft is a large galley with stairs up to transverse companionway. Forward is Master Stateroom with incredible 180 degree view forward. Aft is large main salon, followed aft by another head, and down stairs to the stand up electronics and engine rooms. Aft past head to large entertainment cockpit with ladder to swimstep and hatch to lazerette below. Accessed via the aft deck, you'll find a staircase to the enclosed helm pilothouse and large sundeck. MACHINERY: Twin 16v71 Detroit Diesels rated at 750 HP each. New in 1972 and rebuilt in 1990 with 1700 hours. 3” shafts and 36” 3-blade bronze props, dual rudders and kelp cutters. The diesels idle at 1100 rpm; cruising speed is 14 knots at 1500 rpm; top speed at 1700 rpm is 21+ knots. Engines and gears are excellent with a pair of dual racor fuel filters, as well as upgraded cast aluminum valve covers. Wet exhaust through the transom and hydraulic steering.
