Poseidon is a one-of-a-kind vessel with history and a wonderful reputation. She boasts traditional lines, powerful engines and huge living spaces. Unlike most modern powerboats, Poseidon is not chock full of small cubicles and berths.  Her three staterooms, few for a boat of this size, are large and comfortable. The master would match any luxury apartment.

  • The sellers have developed Poseidon to be sailed by a liveaboard couple – and we have proven that concept from offshore California to Mexico and back.

  • Poseidon is simple, sturdy and low maintenance. Her solid glass hull is phenomenally strong, her systems user-friendly, efficient at sea, at anchor and at the dock. She is safe, sea-kindly and seaworthy. Her wide beam gives her an exceptionally comfortable ride and an airy and roomy interior.

  • She boasts a big saloon, three comfortable staterooms, four heads, large usable outside spaces and an exceptional galley from which we launched our cooking show, Poseidon Cooks.

  • Poseidon is well-known and greatly admired throughout her cruising grounds: Catalina, offshore Southern California and the northern Channel Islands.  Her extensive cruises in Mexico have spread her reputation south of the border.

Poseidon is a 1971 65' motor yacht built by Willard Boat Works, CA. The vessel was designed as a coastal and offshore vessel with heavy fiberglass hull and wood decks and superstructure covered by fiberglass. Below deck vessel accommodations (bow to stern): Forward owner's stateroom with island type berth and abundant storage, walk-in type closet, and large en-suite head with shower, sink, and toilet. Passageway with laundry facility set in an alcove to port with washer and a dryer unit. Also located in the forward portion of the passageway is the stairway leading to the main upper cabin. The passageway also has a head to starboard with sink, toilet and shower. The fuel tanks are port and starboard behind panels. There are two guest cabins, one to starboard and one to port. Access to the engine room is through a watertight type hatch aft. The engine room houses the electrical and mechanical systems. The main cabin has a galley to port with CNG stovetop, microwave oven, convection oven, sinks, and built-in refrigeration systems. The main cabin is wide, nearly beam to beam with entertainment center and abundant seating. The aft deck has seating with table, icemaker, freezer, sink, BBQ, storage and access to a day head with sink and toilet. The upper deckhouses the main helm station with complete navigation equipment, electrical panels, navigation table with computer with navigation software and engine controls. On the upper deck side and aft decks provide access to spotlights, davits and equipment as well as second gear and throttle controls.

The vessel hull is constructed of molded fiberglass-reinforced plastic of varying thickness. The decks and cabin are of sandwich construction of fiberglass covered wood and plywood. Interior furnishings are uniformly molded of fiberglass and or plywood. They are then installed and laminated to the hull. The deck, cabin and cockpit areas utilize similar construction, in that they are also uniformly laminated and bonded to the hull by overlapping joints. The joints are bonded, sealed and mechanically fastened. Secondary supporting bulkheads, longitudinal supports and cabin furnishings are of plywood and are laminated to the hull along their respective lengths. Through-hulls below the waterline are of bronze construction and equipped with a bronze valve.
