BARBARY GHOST is a classic. The Grand Banks 32 was in production for three decades. When the last one was splashed in 1996, 861 of these venerable cruisers had been built. They were initially built of wood but transitioned to fiberglass construction in the mid-1970s. Little changed during their production run, and from a distance it?s difficult to tell a well-cared-for wooden model from a later fiberglass boat.

The Grand Banks 32 Sedan is known as one of the most popular small trawlers ever made and for good reason. She is a charmer with a bright roomy interior and rugged enough for offshore work. The Single Lehman diesel cruises comfortably at 8 knots and provides the fuel efficiency for extended cruising.
BARBARY GHOST is accessed on either side, to the large and clear aft deck. There is a ladder on the port side leading to the flybridge, which has seating added behind the upper helm station. The helm is on starboard side, and there are forward facing bench seats with lockers.
The entrance to the main cabin is from the aft deck trough a sliding door. There is a L shaped settee and folding dining table on starboard, followed by the lower helm forward.
On port side, where typically there would be a settee berth that converts to a bunk bed, the area has been modified to a counter with storage beneath. The galley is forward of that.
Stepping down forward into the private forecastle, there is a large V-berth up font, and a private head on starboard and a large hanging locker on port.
The diesel engine is a rebuilt Ford Lehman 120hp 6 cylinder model 6D380 which was purchased from Bomac Marine and installed by KKMI Richmond in October 2015. This engine is identical to the original engine installed in boat. It has a fresh water cooling system and Werner transmission. The prop was replaced with new in 2015. The engine provides a cruising speed of 7.5 knots and consumes less than 2 gallons of diesel per hour.
