Alan Hill, designer of the popular Trident 24, designed the Vivacity 24 for Russell Marine in 1969, with the aim of providing better accommodation in a higher-volume hull. They had a long production run into the early 1980s. They offer good accommodation for the size, with about 5' 7" maximum headroom in the saloon. They were built in fin keel and bilge keel versions, though bilge-keelers were by far the more popular. Originally designed for outboard power, a few had inboard engines fitted.
"Yachting Monthly" described the Vivacity 24 as ".... a genuine family coastal cruising boat with reasonable cruising performance, good seakeeping and some nice safety features"
