Conventional carvel construction using mahogany planking throughout. The keel, stem, sternpost, floors, frames and steamed timbers are of oak construction with substantial stringers and gunwales of close grained pinewood.
Fastenings throughout this timber construction are of copper nails with roves riveted at the steamed timbers and bronze screws at the hood ends, frames, garboard planking and floor fixings.
The deck is of marine grade plywood, glued and fastened to the gunwales, carlins and deck beams. Coamings to the superstructure and cockpit are of mahogany timber set to these carlins and these in turn are capped with laminated beams and timber coachroof.
The whole structure is further stiffened with a system of hanging and lodging knees and additional floors within the bilge areas.
Structural bulkheads are of marine plywood and timber construction.
