Between 1945 and 1948 the Quincy Adams Yacht Yard in Quincy, MA reportedly built about 24 Herreshoff 12 1/2's, also known then as the Bulls-Eye or Doughdish.
IBIS has had only three owners and is believed to have been built around 1946. She carries Herreshoff Hull Number 2015. Her first owner received her as a present from her father and sailed her out of Quissett Harbor until 2006! Her second owner had IBIS restored, bought a new suit of Harding sails, and owned her until 2009 when the current owner purchased her.
IBIS appears to be in excellent condition. The owner's time constraints have kept her from being used for the past two seasons. In the meantime IBIS has been boat yard-stored in a wooden shed with dirt floor. Her Torqeedo electric outboard motor was new in 2012 and has never been used. IBIS's owner would like to see her go to caring new owners who will enjoy her and give her a good home. Note: photos of boat in water were taken in October, 2008. Most photos in the shed were taken in May, 2016. Photos #23 - 33 were taken in May, 2018. Price reduced from $12,500 on 7/21.
