The Herreshoff 12 ½ is one of N.G Herreshoff's finest designs. Since the first of the class were launched in 1914, generation after generation of sailors have learned to sail on these capable little sloops. Now more than 100 years since their creation, they remain a New England sailing icon.
ROCKET, HMCo. #1470, was built in Bristol, RI in 1939 and exists as a true and faithful example of a Herreshoff 12 from that period. The boat is cedar planked over oak frames, trimmed in varnished mahogany, and outfitted with a gaff rig. The quality of her original construction and the care taken by Ballentine's Boat Shop -both during her restoration in the 1980s and the yearly care since- make ROCKET a excellent option for someone looking for a wooden H12 of above average quality.
The sale includes:
2 Sets of sails (one newer)
2 Older spinnakers
Cockpit and jib covers
Custom Triad trailer
The boat is currently in storage at Ballentine's Boat Shop in Catuamet, MA. Contact us for more information or to arrange a viewing.
