This is a lapstrake planked reproduction built to the lines of the only known original Manhattan Whitehall from the Mystic Seaport Collection.
Whitehalls have a long and storied history as an integral part of 19th century maritime commerce. The boats were used as water taxis, supply boats and by the police to patrol the Harbors of New York and Boston. They are renowned for their rowing capabilities both in their tracking and speed.
She is planked in eastern white cedar over white oak frames and includes two pairs of spoon blade spruce oars.
