Construction
Solid fiberglass hull in white with structural liner and injection moulded deck make for a clean and bright interior. Fin keel with 1.98m draft, spade rudder with tiller steering. Helmsman seat opens to give access to the sugar scoop stern and swim ladder. Stainless steel push-pit and pulpit fittings are linked by twin guard wires.
Mechanicals
Powered by a Volvo Penta 2020 19hp inboard diesel engine driving a 2 bladed folding propeller. Engine last serviced when winterised in October 2016.
A pair of 12 volt batteries provide power for engine start, instruments and domestic use. These are charged via the engine or battery charger when linked to shore power.
The boat benefits from a diesel fuelled Eberspacher Airtronic heating system extending the comfortable use into the winter months.
Sails and Rigging
Fractional rigged Bermudan Sloop with deck stepped alloy mast, spars and kicker and stainless wire standing rigging. Running rigging led aft to cockpit for ease for use and crew safety. The mainsheet traveller is mounted low enough so as not to get in the way when cruising and the backstay is easily adjustable. Rigged for spinnakers the pole is stored along the boom keeping the decks clear.
The genoa has roller furling and a luff sock while the main has slab reefing and a Lazy Jack bag for quick and easy storage. The mainsail and genoa were replaced in March 2015 with sails in Kevlar by Goacher Sails. There are 2 spinnakers by Technique Voile both of which are 11 years old. All sails are said to be "in good condition".
- Mainsail in Kevlar by Goacher
- Furling Genoa in Kevlar by Goacher
- 2 x Spinnakers by Technique Voile
Accommodation and layout
Comfortable accommodation for up to 6 people in a 2 double cabin and saloon berth layout. On entering the saloon, to port is the entrance to the large aft double cabin with clothes lockers and the heads compartment with pressurised hot and cold shower, just in front. A holding tank is fitted to comply with lake regulations. To starboard is the U shaped galley which has a single sink with pressurised hot and cold water, gas oven with twin burner hob, top loading fridge and a good variety of storage. The aft facing chart table and electrical panel is just forward of the galley.
The main saloon area has settee style seating / berths either side of the large central dining table which has two fold down leaves and storage built in. The saloon feels light and airy and the extensive use of wood furnishings and bulkheads combined with cream cushions make the saloon feel a cosy place to spend time with family and friends.
The forward cabin has a twin / double V berth with storage under as well as shelves, a hanging locker and deck hatch for light, ventilation and access if required.
The Eberspacher heating system has vents in the saloon and both cabins keeping the boat comfortable whatever the time of year. Shore power is fitted and all the internal lights have been converted to LED for long life and low power consumption.
