Robalo has carved a nice niche in the walkaround market, highlighting their craftsmanship and relative affordability. Generally, we don't find walkarounds in this size range very comfortable. The Robalo 265 provides the exception to the rule. Below decks, the large V-berth with its inset easily accommodates two adults. In addition, the galley has a good refrigerator and stove. Some of the other most salient features include holders for four rigged fishing rods and an enclosed, stand-up head with a porcelain VacuFlush toilet.
This boat is powered with twin Yamaha Four Stroke 200’s with 620 hours, and when you add the optional power-assist steering to the standard Lenco tabs with indicators, you get a package that performs superbly well. The Captain will be assisted with the Color Garmin Echo Map 70S GPS/Fishfinder and Standard Horizon VHF.
Robalo's 265 has a healthy list of fishing features and equipment. Robalo mounts four rod holders in the gunwales and provides space for another six in tubes under gunwales. A 33-gallon LED-lighted live-well with a blue interior has an easy sliding hatch. The deck hides an 85-gallon fish box that drains directly overboard augmented by a second 40-gallon box under the captain's helm seat. The full-width transom seat makes the ride to the fishing grounds comfortable; it then flips out of the way easily for access to the live-well and other rigging. You get a raw-water washdown, Plano tackle-box storage, holders for knives, pliers and rigged lures, toe kicks, stainless-steel rams on all the boxes and hatches and a wide, walk-thru transom door.
After 14 years of ownership this original owner is putting my Robalo up for sale. Since bringing to Florida I have kept it in high and dry storage, and engines have been serviced by the same well-regarded local mechanic. April 2018 I completed the Yamaha Exhaust Update on both motors, so boat just had extensive service as well as the 600 hour service. Also had the bottom paint refreshed...Two things I have not gotten around to servicing are the shower head and the sump pump, but other than those items I believe everything is in good order.
