The Oyster 53 is a very popular yacht with couples and families. The 53 was a very successful model for Oyster. Designed to be sailed short handed, yet large enough for ocean sailing and living aboard. For those who like a good sailing yacht, the 53 will please and reward the keenest yachtsman.
Going Easy too has a great combination of living space and sailing performance. Below decks, there are 4 cabins, accommodating 7 persons with the 4th cabin doubling up as a useful workshop space when not being used for sleeping. The yacht is beautifully finished in traditional teak joinery with light upholstery complimenting the feel of the yacht to provide a light and airy saloon. This yacht also features the “B” layout, which allows for a twin and double guest cabin forward, with a shared but generous heads and shower room. This layout also includes a large sail locker accessible from the deck, this locker is huge and provides fantastic sail storage space, really useful.
Equipment wise, Going Easy too is well specified to include an 8 kW HFL generator, bow thruster, watermaker, air conditioning with reverse cycle heat and separate Webasto heating system too. There is also a good level of navigation and communication aids, such as Raymarineradar/chartplotter with repeater in the cockpit, AIS, VHF x 2 and much more.
On deck, and concerning the rig. Going Easy too features a fully battened mainsail with a stak pak system which allows for relatively easy sail handling whilst retain good performance from her fully battened mainsail The sloop rig,electric winches, spinnaker package (with carbon spinnaker pole) further enhance her flexibility for a variety of sailing conditions.
Interestingly, Going Easy Too also features a full length rubbing strake on both sides of the hull, thus protecting the top sides.
Lastly, it should be further mentioned this yacht is due to undergo a 3 month refit in Phuket to further enhance this beautiful yacht, this work will continue and the owner will continue to maintain the yacht to a high standard until a buyer is found.
