A couple steps down from the mid-vessel helm brings you into the cozy main salon of Inside Straight. It s easy to see the quality that gives Storebro its worldwide great reputation with the smooth mahogany interior, and fine décor and furnishings. The beautiful woodwork continues into the private head with stand up shower, which is located immediately to your right. The head has a large enough hand sink that even the burliest fisherman s hands can scrub down without making a huge watery mess. Plenty of counter space and storage cubbies round out this feature. Beyond lies the galley with a Nautic two-burner stove/oven combo, a rare find on a boat this size. Access the burners by lifting up the counter. Access the large stainless sink in the same way. Across the way is a large convertible dinette that is big enough to fit most, if not all, passengers around it for a game or a meal or just to visit. A Norcold refrigerator is tucked into the seating. A privacy door separates the bow v-berth from the rest of the salon and really sets it off as a bedroom. Window coverings on all windows throughout the vessel really give it a private feel. To keep the winter chill at bay, heating is provided by a centrally located Newport oil stove.
Hand rails and a short two steps and through the aft opening and you are in the cockpit of Inside Straight. You ll immediately notice the roomy and beautiful wood deck that shouts nautical charm. A durable back deck canvas helps keep it protected when not in use. Don t let the beautiful lines of wood fool you, though. This vessel is set up quite nicely for a full fishing excursion with a pot puller, two Cannon downriggers and a deck wash down system. Storage trays keep loose objects nicely tucked away. From the deck, step through a sliding glass door into a spacious mid-vessel helm area. A plush long settee stretched along the starboard side makes for comfortable seating for a number of adults. The helm is located port side, a rare treat. Numerous electronic devices are mounted from the ceiling. The dash has plenty of space for a laptop and lets you keep the excellent line of sight over the bow. Sliding windows let in the wonderful sea breeze. Privacy curtains are available for all windows and doors for when you d like to repurpose this area for a berth or changing area.
While the body of Inside Straight may be vintage, her engines certainly are not. Two 2009 Volvo 200 horsepower TAMD 41 diesel engines with a mere 500 hours on them. Cruise speed is 14 knots at 2200 rpm. Top speed is 21 knots. She carries 200 gallons of fuel and her usage is 10 gallons per hour. Easy access the huge engine compartment is through the floor of several mid-vessel deck hatches. The engines have been well maintained and are clean. The engine room even has extra space to store a couple of crab pots. When you need to set anchor for the night, a 20-pound Danforth anchor attached to a Vetus hydraulic winch and 400 feet of chain and line will keep you steady. This vessel has a great propulsion package with a low maintenance shaft and wheel and low hour diesel engines. She appears to have been only lightly used.
Inside Passage s AC electric power is provided through a standard 30-amp shore power with a Kenyan 1500 inverter when cruising. For DC power she has three start batteries and three house batteries. She has been outfitted with a complete electronics package, including a laptop, a Furuno plotter and depth sounder, a Raytheon radar and an Icom VHF. Keep the party hoppin with the Maxxima stereo and speakers.
